For most of the interns they have wrapped up their work experience, for me I can’t even tell how many days I have done. My internship doesn’t officially end until the end of November so I am not particularly sad at writing my reflection.

Looking back at what I have completed I do feel a sense of pride. Especially right now because Heidi just shared one of my pieces on her Real Heidi page. Knowing people are reading my work that I have put a lot of time and effort into is so satisfying and makes me realise that the work and skills I have learnt are definitely going to help me in the PR world. I have improved my writing skills drastically, learned how to successfully post to social media and run the business account, and respond to potential clients.

This semester has been the hardest semester of my uni degree. I have struggled with health, stress, and tragic personal circumstances. The thing that has kept me going is the support I have had from my mentor. Although I was thrown completely into the deep-end, had to work a lot from home, given last minute tasks, and felt like at times I wasn’t good enough, Heidi was always there to listen and support me. She would always ask if the tasks she has given me were too much to handle, and if I needed to take a step back. In hindsight I wish that these circumstances didn’t happen as i feel as though I haven’t worked to my full potential and shown Heidi what I am capable of. So I am really lucky my internship still has four weeks left so I can focus all of my energy into that and prove my self to her.

I want to write out goals that I want to achieve over the last month of my internship so I can be help some what accountable.

  1. Find better images for social media to attract a wider following
  2. Find at least two clients to present to Heidi
  3. Locate better story ideas that attract a wider audience

I hope everyone has enjoyed their internship and even got a job out of it. For me I have one more semester of uni and am thinking I might do another placement in the break.
