An Internship! Something that I have been looking forward to since I began my university journey back in 2018. Coming into it, I was looking for a suitable placement which met my values of integrity and working on something that will ultimately do good for the community. I do not want these 20 days to be a waste, I really want this to be a great experience where I can look back and see the new skills and relationships I’ve made and say it was completely worth it!

I received many emails from Curtin and different staff members presenting me many opportunities with different organisations. In the end, the obvious stand out to me was Perth Rotary. It aligned with all my values and had a real passion for adding value to the community in Perth. It was no brainer.

My Interview with my supervisor went well! I was quite nervous heading into it, however he made me feel really comfortable and by the end of it we were talking as if we knew each other for years! We talked about the upcoming events and and plans the organisation had (such as Rotary Means Business Fellowship) which really grabbed my attention and felt like this was the perfect opportunity for me.  He then informed me that i’d be a great addition to the team, and so my Placement begins! Stay tuned to read about my experience as this journey continues!
